Governance

In the CFES, there are three different levels of governance: the General Plenary, the Board of Directors and the National Executive.  All three of these play an important role in ensuring the long-term stability and capability of the organization, and work together to ensure a successful federation for all stakeholders.

General Plenary

The General Plenary, composed of all members of the Federation, is the highest decision-making body in the CFES.  This body convenes twice yearly, once at CFES President's Meeting, and once at the CFES Annual General Meeting, assembled at Congress.  Any major organizational changes need to be approved by the General Plenary, and the General Plenary is usually responsible for setting long-term strategy for the Federation.  Representation of members is usually done by the External Relations responsible at the Engineering Society, and the President of the Society.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is composed of the President, VP Finance and Administration, Regional Ambassadors, Service Managers and National Councillors of the Federation.  The Board represents the interests of all stakeholders in between meetings of the General Plenary.  The Board is charged with developing strategy, approving large-scale expenses and assuming responsibility for the Federation on an on-going basis.  Meeting on a monthly basis, the Board of Directors is open to any concerns or questions that members may want raised at a high level in the organization - simply talk to your Regional Ambassador.

National Executive

The National Executive manages the CFES operations on a day-to-day basis.  Comprised of the President, VP Finance and Administration, VP Communications and VP Services and Development, the National Executive ensure that goals and strategy developed by members gets executed with a high degree of efficiency.  For any questions about day-to-day CFES services and programs, the National Executive is always open to any feedback.
