The Canadian Engineering Competition (CEC) 2010, a 3-day event that was attended by 150 top engineering students across Canada was held this year over the weekend of March 19th to 21st in Toronto. Winners of regional competitions (QEC, WEC, AEC and OEC) competed in categories such as Engineering Communication, Consulting, Team Design, Senior Team Design, Extemporaneous Debate, and Innovative Design. In addition to competing in one of the 6 categories, students were given the opportunity to attend a well organized career fair, network with industry leaders and with each other.
The organizing committee put in tremendous effort in making CEC a success and ensuring that the stress of competitions was lessened by running a smooth operation. From the feedback of the competitors, the venue, food selections, logistics and needs of the competitors were met.
Overall, it was a weekend of excitement, hard work and fun. Students came up with innovative designs for Team and Senior Team designs and debates were exciting to watch as always. Congratulations to all the winners of CEC and good job to all competitors!
