International Engineering Competition Host Selected!

Hello Everyone!

The International Engineering Competition (IEC) Box is excited to officially announce the selection of a host school and site for the inaugural 2010 International Engineering Competition!  Congratulations to Dalhousie University and the 2010 Dalhousie Organizing Committee for their amazing application!

Halifax, Nova Scotia will be the site of the first collaborative engineering competition between BEST, bonding, and CFES in May 2010, bringing together 48 of the top undergraduate engineering students from Canada and Europe in an elite, student-organized competition.

What does this mean for you as a CFES undergraduate student?  The top two teams from Senior Design and Consulting Engineering at CEC 2010 will automatically qualify for this amazing event.  These lucky individuals will not only get to experience maritime life, but will engage in high-level competition judged by industry professionals and professors, network with students from around the world, and have an awesome time with no worries about any fees!  So to all the CFESers, get started on building your competition team so you can make it through the university, regional, and national competitions to be a part of this auspicious event!

If you'd like to know more about the IEC or want to volunteer some of your fundraising, marketing, or other skills to this fantastic event, email the iecbox@googlegroups.com and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

And if you're just a little envious of Dalhousie Organizing Committee for having this incredible opportunity to showcase their skills and pad their resumes, then don't worry, the call for the 2011 IEC hosts will be out shortly so start getting ready!

Once again, on behalf of BEST, bonding, and CFES, congratulations to the IEC 2010 Dalhousie Organizing Committee!

Cheers,

IEC Box
