Through Engineers Canada we have been made aware of an interesting engineering award opportunity at Mondialogo (details at http://www.mondialogo.org/mea).

Mondialogo presents an international contest for student engineers who are concerned about the UN Millennium Development Goals and want to develop project ideas that address climate change, poverty reduction and sustainable development. They are looking forward to an exciting contest seeking practical and sustainable solutions for some of the most pressing challenges of our time.

The submission deadline to register a new project is Dec 31st, 2008. However, it appears that interested competitors can still join existing project teams after the 31st, so this is probably still worth distributing to your members.
