Thank you to everyone for an exciting, unforgetable and sleepless Congress. A big congratulations to Julien LaPointe who will be taking over my role in April!
While I have been busy non-stop this year, there are still so many things left to be done and not in the state I wish they were. The remainder of my term will be focused on a few key projects. To learn more about any of them, just send an email to vpcomm@cfes.ca
- Website Clean-up: This year has been a leap forward in terms of website development, but this would all be for nothing if next year's volunteers are not fully able to keep the system working and happy. To help ensure this, I will be focusing most of my attention on packaging and documenting the current website system.
- IT Commissioner recruitment: For a number of years we have had a difficult time finding or retaining a volunteer in the IT Commissioner role. I will work to try to fill this role for the 2009-2010 year and ensure the person has all the support they need in order to have a successful year.
- Annual Report: The CFES' annual report is the final record of our year's successes, setbacks, scandals and surprises. A copy of each report is submitted to our physical archives and saved for the years to come, so that the next generation can learn what we did. Compiling and publishing our 2008-2009 report will be my final major project of the year.
- eBulletin Overhaul: This project, which is closely tied to the new website's need for a comprehensive design review, will make the eBulletin more accessible to both members and their students. If you're interested in helping, just think of what your favourite political email newsletter looks like, or forward me sample designs you'd like to see "emulated" :)
If you are interested in getting involved in any of these projects, or have other interest in the VP Comm portfolio, please always feel free to drop me a line on email, MSN, Skype, the Voicemail or my personal phone number.
