Thoughts on Life after Congress

Life (if you can call it that) after Congress is strange. Youíre not partying every night, meeting new people every day, or cursing those that can't seem to put their fucking hands down in plenary.

It's been over for almost two weeks, but to many it seems like much longer. The Congress veterans will have already boarded themselves up in their rooms for 3 days straight to finish their homework, while the newbies are probably still catching up.

But the spirit of the CFES and Congress lives on. In many ways the goal of Congress was so that all of us could create permanent "mini-Congresses" in our own EngSocs. I donít mean getting belligerently drunk every night (some societies do that as is), but creating a group of people that care about engineering student government.

Hopefully at least one person in every member society was inspired to take something they learned at Congress at apply it to their EngSoc. Hopefully everyone met somebody they intend to keep in touch with for the years to come. Letís keep the memory of Congress 2009 alive and well!
