The CFES would like to hold an Education Summit with the Board of European Schools of Technology (BEST) during the spring of 2009.  BEST has a lot of experience with hosting Academic Events and it would be really beneficial (and FUN!!) for CFES members to participate in a jointly organized event.

I just attended my first BEST event – a Board, Academics and Companies (BACo) Forum.    I learned the structure of a BEST Education event and became familiar with some of BEST’s insanely awesome traditions.  The BACo was a great opportunity to learn about the European education structure, as well as to generate excitement over the idea of a CFES-BEST event.

The next step is to ensure that BEST officially supports holding the joint CFES-BEST Education Summit.  I hope this decision will be made at BEST’s Education Committee meeting in August.  Please let me know if you have any ideas for the theme of the Education summit (academic@cfes.ca)  as this will also be a topic of discussion at the Education Committee meeting.
